Two Things

I woke up this morning and the way my clothes were sitting happened to make a face. This guy's got a long nose hair.

Isn't that wild! There's some lil book I saw in college with all these cool expressions some artist saw in everyday stuff like lightsockets and what-have-you. So this ain't my idea or nothin, but that does'nt mean I'm not going to snap a picture if I find one. Here's one I found a month or so ago on the humidifier my neighboor was getting rid of.
That's one friendly humidifier.

Also, I just put a little cartoon book together that's going to be for sale in a little bit. It's just gonna be five bucks. My friends helped alot with their opinions and folding and stapling. Thanks so much to Beau, Lindsay, Brian Morante, Brian Oakes, and Katie. You all are fantastic. The book's gonna be for sale at some convention in Texas, firstly. I'll let you know more when I know more.

Sea World San Diego Beast Heads

Hey there folks, take a look at a new site for Sea World San Diego artists. "Sea World San Diego Beast heads" it's called. The web address is real easy to remember its just beastheads.blogspot.com

A bunch of us artists tried to draw the scariest baby possible, so I'll post those pretty quick here. I think this is gonna be cool.

Some Random Malarky

The only one I'm happy with on this quad is the guy in the top right. They were real good customers even though I was sure I heard the guy talkin trash before they sat down.
Another one from the caricature convention. It's of a nice guy named Jason.

My buddy who just saw my work said he wanted me to post this one, so I obliged. This is from the last convention. She has the most irresistible face ever.

blog blog blog blog blog blog blog blog byog -- I mean blog

This baseball body is just plain bad, but the face turned out pretty good.
This was a fun couple I drew. I promise she's making a different expression here. PS. We've got lil' Kevin Jackson working with us now. Perhaps you can find him in this photo.

Patrick and Kevin

New

On a slow day, me and Andy was tryin to see who could draw the scariest baby. I think newborns are the scariest.
I have million regrets about my decisions in this caricature, but at least I drew without fear, and at least it's fun to look at, and at least I made her riding a Nate turtle. She was, maybe, the perfect customer. She was unbelievably patient, and so was her boyfriend. They were very gracious, good people. I put my blog address on the drawing so maybe they'll see these nice things I have to say about them. Lady, I love your face and I wish I could have drawn it a hundred times. And I think you're pretty. And your boyfriend too.
These two were really cool. He was slightly cooler, but she has a lot of cool-potential.

this is Oscar

It's been a while.

Greetings

I been working on creating greeting cards, and trying to combine all my skill-sets. These are some illustrations from them.

I love the way this painting turned out.

more acrylic

I painted my shoes

malc

I drew my neighbor as a football player for him. His girl really liked it so I decided to paint them together since I been trying to get into painting with acrylic. They loved it.

last of the night on a busy day

I put my blog address on this one. This family was awesome. I did a demo of the dad which they bought. The next day I ended up drawing the rest of the famlily. Most of those drawings turned out pretty good. But this one's probably the coolest. The family got drawn by some of the other artists too, but they didn't reject um, then come to me. They bought everything. The wall in their house must look ridiculous -- in a good way. I hope they find this. Family's like them keep a caricature artist going.
Check it out, Ma! This little fellow was very intelligent, so maybe it was okay that I made his dome too tall. But probably not. Aside from that error, I'm pretty happy with this sketch overall. I love the shark and the atmosphere. It's really hard to make a shark look any scarier than a shark actually looks in real life, but this one looks pretty scary to me. I wish I could have made the kid look freightened or something.

park skitchees

He wanted it to be as nerdy as possible. I like my World of Warcraft poster. He was big into that.
This guy was cool. This was actually an Andy reject. Andy drew a trumpet when the guy asked for a trombone. You gotta check out Andy's blog though. He's real good. He's a pioneer. No joke.

Painting for my family for Christmas

I painted my family for Christmas because I had more time and artistic drive than money. Keeping track of the process kept me going and kept me on track. I got it here for you in reverse order.

I layed in some colors going for a certain look in my mind but not knowing exactly what I wanted.
I started coloring in between the lines, hoping and aiming to establish a sense of space.
This is the first of many layout attempts I did on tracing paper.
I designed each pose individually until i had what I wanted. then I transfered it to the board using graphite.
I began in my sketchbook, by drawing my family from photos, and a very sloppy layout sketch.

The project was very rewarding and I was motivated the whole way through because it's something like I've never done, and cuz it made me remember the old homestead and all my loved ones.

Drawings of friends and a sketch

This is a wee little drawing I did of Brian Oaks, and I'm almost a hundred percent happy with the likeness.

ship

I drew this for my sister and her husband when they got married. He like ships.

My Mom

A quick note to all those souls kind enough to leave comments on my blog. This is how my mom looks when you avoid coarse language.
And this is how she looks when you don't. And since she is my biggest fan, let's all try and be concientious. By the way, her birthday is coming up the 30th of this month. Happy Bday, Mom!
