Illustration Friday

This is a superhero named Alpha Male. Alpha Male rides a bicycle, and likes to cook brocoli. He is the most powerful of all modern human beings. He likes to cook brocoli and he's confident enough to have long hair like a girl. The ladies adore Alpha Male, and he saves the day by hitting people with his pan and he wears sandals everywhere because he likes to let his feet breathe and this is his weakness because sometimes little stones get in there and he has to stop and shake them out. Alpha Male wears circle rimmed glasses which you might think is nerdy, but they are a very low perscription, which the ladies adore.

Two Friends

This is a quick pencil sketch of a co-worker named Dennis

This is Eric Evanson, whom I drew previously on the blog in a more geometric style

Couples

I was really happy with this drawing except for one huge glaring error. Perhaps you can spot it.

I didn't give this girl enough chin, but I thought this one was pretty fun.

Jackin Some Animals

My friends and I were sitting around and sketching and we decided to try to draw some animals real crazy like. We'd decid on an animal, and then we'd all draw it. The elephant is my favorite.

Two full face colors

My main regret with this drawing was I should've emphasized her bottom lip coming out without bringing the top lip as far along with it. I can see in this photo exactly what I should have done. I think the issue is my being indecisive about whether I draw them smiling or not. I know that a smile goes a long way in selling a drawing, but if I decide not to draw one I should not just go half way. That's what I did on her. I was trying to expose some teeth.

Matt Zitman

He was born George Zitman. Then one day he sold a lot of mats. And so they gave him a name.
I like this one better. Matt is an artist visiting from Philly. He drew my friend Jarred as a trash can, and it was amazing.

Aaron Philby Uses Red Arrows a Little Bit

Way after the fact I noticed a weird error in my drawing

That's right. He's gonna buy it even though I accidentally lamed out on his teeth

Busy Times

demo sold, drawn fast
drawn of coworker, Mez, from memory
wierd, I drew her very tame but was happy with the likeness
demo not sold, wish I would have gotten that great look you see in the photo of him here. It would've been totally easy too.

drawn fairly fast. I don't like it that much, but it's nice and cartoony. I took a picture because I felt like it would solidify the frame sale. Indeed they did buy a frame. They came back later and I had to draw their cat in there too. Cat people!

Rejects: whatever

This little lady was apalled by this tame drawing. Maybe I should've filled in the teeth a little more
I think this reject was a matter of the parents wanted to have a drawing of each of their children in the same style. Beau, my manager, drew the other two and then he redrew this one.

This young lady was a little slow but really fun to talk to. The mother was a poop. I think she convinced her daughter not to like it after they walked away, cuz I think the little girl liked it, at least as much as you'd expect a little girl to.
